Over the course of the year, there will be other adults working in and around Year 5 to provide support where necessary.

If at any point throughout the year, you are concerned about your child, or would like a friendly chat with a member of staff, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher on Dojo or by e mail. We are always happy to help and appreciate the ongoing support we receive from families.

Your child needs to bring a coat, a lunchbox and a water bottle everyday.

PE will take place on Tuesday and Friday afternoons for all Year 5 classes. Tuesday is indoor PE and Friday outdoor PE. The children should wear their PE kit to school on these days, not school uniform.

Children will have swimming lessons in the Spring Term.

We would really appreciate your help this year with the following on a weekly basis:

  • Listening to your child read, and asking them questions about what they have read.
  • Recall of times tables (up to 12 x 12)
  • Spelling tasks on Spelling Shed
  • Weekly maths homework  - Key life skills:  Time, money, reading timetables for Miss McBlain, Mrs Forbes/Mrs Pallister and Mrs Mudd/Miss John.
  • Mr Evans will sett weekly Freckle tasks for his set.

All children have a TTRS, Spelling Shed, FRECKLE maths and Accelerated Reader passwords, which they can access at home and complete extra tasks, if they wish to.
